Caught my first bass today, Spent an hour casting my £15 lure then lost it snagged on a rock, 2 casts with a super cheap lure got me a small bass.

Just goes to show, no matter the rod the fish can't see it, but how long will it last? 👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣

@BassLureFish Thanks for the tip, I am new to fishing and will be fishing off the coast of north Devon, do you think that cheap rod is enough to give me a chance of landing a fish?

Yep agreed with the Tenryu. Class act. Mine is a 240 supermix. Wrongly mentioned 210 in the video. But TEMU setups definitely have their place. I usually have half a dozen setups ready to go on the boat and often provide tackle for three or four anglers and so it makes sense for me to have budget gear onboard.

You can wing it with a cheap set up on a boat, maybe not so, off the shore! Big fish a different store, like you I use a 210 super mix on a boat/ kayak, it can handle nearly anything with a decent Shimano and 131 braid.

@firstofthefloodI find that drifting in 30m over the banks is best. Cast uptide so the lure lands on the bottom directly beneath the boat and sinks quick.

@BassLureFish you would need a down rigger for that depth. Worth trying when the bass are on or near the surface. I've got them using rapalas trolled behind my kakak, which dive to about 4 feet. Limited by my paddling speed.
