Think with comparison tests you have to jave the same conditions and fish present .
If i had been conductingbthis test i woild have set up two rods with the two lures and alternated them . So say a school of larger fish move into range each lure geys equal chance to prove itself . Thank you for inyroducing me to a alternative lure to the biscay minnows i have sqore by for years. .

😂 Fair enough. At least you’re paying attention! Fish welfare is important to me and I’m always happy to learn if there’s a better way to handle them if they are going to be released. This video and the next couple were filmed before you and others made this comment so any improvements will take time to filter through. But I do appreciate the comment and take it on board. This one was actually taken home for tea by the way.

Fish welfare is important to me, so I’ll definitely look into it further. I’ve always tried to minimise air exposure and get bass back quickly, but if there’s evidence that certain holding positions can affect recovery then it’s something worth understanding.

Hey man. The Rod is an HTO Lure Game - 7'2" 2-12g Solid Tip. I’m not sponsored by HTO and bought this rod myself. Can’t fault it.

My favourite is actually the HTO Light Gamer 1-7g. More than adequate to cope with bass from the boat and ultralight. Sadly I lost it over the side being an absolute idiot. Only saving grace was I filmed it and you’ll see my stupidity in this Sundays video. WHAT A MUPPET! Tight lines man.

Hi great video. However something that concerns me is the way you hold the fish up to the camera. I was on a bass trip to Ireland and as I was on my own I was holding the bass like you are for photos. I started to notice some bass getting washed up on the beach. Something I've never seen with bass before as they go back so well. It turned out holding them like that was straining the gills and the bass kept getting washed back in no matter how far I walked them out to release. Holding them straight down was no problem but if you look at the gills when you hold them with a bent head you can see the strain.
The following night I held one bass up for the camera and sure enough 1 bass was washed up on the beach about 50 yards from me. Once I stopped holding them that way I never had another washed up on the shore.

Just wondering what rod you are using?

Big rod and reel and 90lb braid and 30cm lures is where I'm at now I got sick of loosing big fish yes you might get sore arms throwing heavy kit all day for no bites but when you get one you know it guaranteed a big fish I carry a lighter set up as well but only use it when it's shallow

That’s where it came originally. I’ve done a fair few mods to it for fishing. V pleased with it. Not many fishing boats do 50 knots😂
