Definitely worth a try. And you can still fish another rod at same time and double the chances.

​​@BassLureFish nps mate,many bass boat fishers only jig or cast on the drift the static rod will get you extra fish to the boat , forsure speed matters when drifting even in deep water i use a sea anchor to get the speed down at times , look forward to your next uploads .tightlines....

I think they call that dead sticking. Can be deadly in right circumstances so definitely worth a try. Others will know better than me.

Thanks mate for those words. Yes it’s a sand bank so no snags. The lure is a medium sized sidewinder skerries Pro. Not sure if weight. But I had a 4oz lead on a sliding boom on both the static and active retrieve. Hope that helps. Any other Qs do shout.

Our aim was simply to test a static rod against an actively retrieved lure under the same conditions, rather than claim the technique was new. I’ll definitely be experimenting more with those drift speeds and appreciate you taking the time to explain it. Tight lines! 🎣

Hi what your doing with the static rod is called drifting softs you can drift two rods static and cast fish one rod or sometimes i do this 1 livebait one soft static and cast one, the best drift speed for soft plastics is 1 to 1.5mph for bass you can also troll softs at this speed for bass. its well used method in many types of fishing, it works well for bass in shallow water or when the bass are high in the water, ragot hybrid is A very good lure the static rod, tightlines I look forward to your next uploads...

They are bass killers 40 g jig and cast @seadra aqua bullet @vealsmailorder, I lost a Shimano twin power 6000 and Shimano basstera rod overboard over a year ago ….still hurts 😂😅

It’s all part of the fun on the water sometimes! 😅
