Avet and Accurate. Can’t remember sizes and models. Both great reels. Each over 12 years old and neither ever been serviced. Expensive but worth every penny.

Rog set up was a 4oz lead on a Zip slider running up and down main line. Then a bead to protect the knot. Then a swivel to stop the lead. Then a ten foot fluorocarbon leader with the lure at the end. Lure was a sidewinder skerries pro in super pearl.

Dead sticking a lure in the tide is a different technique. But it definitely works in the right circumstances. Sounds like another video to me 😂

Yep i tend to agree. The test is whether the braid catches less fish. Where im fishing rocks aren’t an issue so the abrasion resistance of fluoro isn’t really an advantage. But let’s test it and find out.

For the new video idea the braid would break so much easier if there are any rocks around. The fluor is there to protect you from that. If there are absolutely no rocks then I guess it would be fine to tie it directly to braid, but I doubt it would give you more fish.

The rod is static with respect to the boat but it is moving with the tide and the wind with respect to the bottom.

Bass ambush things moving with the tide. Wind add some speed (it was in the direction of the tide, right?) and movement.

I often drift without retrieving, but moving the tip of the rod up and down. It works.

The motion of the boat in that chop is doing the jigging .

Thanks man. I love this testing stuff. It’s forcing me to do things differently and if I accidentally stumble across something that works then what’s not to like.

Definitely worth a try. And you can still fish another rod at same time and double the chances.

I think they call that dead sticking. Can be deadly in right circumstances so definitely worth a try. Others will know better than me.

Thanks mate for those words. Yes it’s a sand bank so no snags. The lure is a medium sized sidewinder skerries Pro. Not sure if weight. But I had a 4oz lead on a sliding boom on both the static and active retrieve. Hope that helps. Any other Qs do shout.
