Lure size is a testable variable. Any result should be read alongside bait size, fish size, visibility and how the lure is presented.
What this does not prove
Different lure sizes can also change action, sink rate, casting distance and hook profile, so “size” is not the only thing changing.

In this video I put a bigger lure up against a smaller match-the-hatch setup in a proper on-the-water test to see what actually performs best for sea bass. We tracked catch rate, fish size and the biggest fish of the session to find out whether the bigger lure gets fewer bites but better fish.
The small lure starts fast, the big lure feels like a mistake, and then things get very interesting. There’s a proper data review at the end, a tiny net disaster, a fish lost at the net, and a result that genuinely surprised me.

@jamespugh9214it's a 11'6 diawa BG 50-150g and a BG 4500 that I've got and I can still feel the lure twitching on it but it's a stiff rod and easily bullies the fish I catch not sure you can get them now but I have a new spare one already 😂

Agreed, but it’s on the rod, I use a Tenryu 7ft 210 super mix lure boat rod, feels and fishes like a 30 gram rod and deals with big fish easily, you get what you pay for!
