We tested six colours of the same Sidewinder Skerries Pro 5” soft plastic lure during one four-hour session at Christchurch Ledge, Dorset, UK.
The result was clear: 50 bass were caught, with 48 fish coming on four colours. Yellow One and Pink One produced just one bass each.

Super Pearl: white / pearl body with red stripe.
The top four colours produced 48 of the 50 bass. Super Pearl and Candy King accounted for 29 fish combined.
This was one real-world fishing session, not a laboratory experiment. Results can be affected by fish behaviour, lure rotation, presentation, light, current and chance.

But Andy's just seem to cast better than the skerries.
I remember hearing the hype regarding the skerries pros.
I bought some and actually laughed after a few casts because imo they didnt cast any further than the originals.
I also had to sharpen both hooks straight from new out of the packet!
Ive bought a few skerries before and the quality control is questionable to say the least- hooks that were offset to the nose of the lure? Poor paint jobs…

I mostly fish from the sbore and find the sidewinders and the dissapointing pros still cast like a wet sock and cost me distance
