What the evidence can tell us
Our lure-choice records cover size, colour, scent and comparisons between lure families. Choose the question you want to answer before comparing catches. The most useful starting point is a filmed session with a named lure, a reported outcome and conditions close enough to yours to make the comparison worthwhile.

Limits: A colour test is especially sensitive to order effects, changing fish activity and the exact amount of fishing time each colour receives.
Separate lure features
A lure can differ in profile, size, weight, colour, scent and rigging at the same time. A comparison between two complete lures tells you how they performed in that session; it rarely isolates one feature. Use dedicated colour, size or scent tests when that is the question you want to investigate.
Read a shortlist as a record of use
A collection of successful lures can help you find footage and tackle ideas. It is not a controlled ranking of every lure available. Check whether a video is a direct comparison, an individual fishing session or a season overview before treating it as evidence of an advantage.
Keep conditions with the recommendation
Water clarity, depth, tide and presentation help explain the setting in which a lure was used. If a field is blank, we have not assumed its value. Watch the original session when you need rigging or movement details that cannot be captured by the lure name.

Start with the type of fishing and presentation you need, then examine the relevant tests. A catch result is one part of a purchasing decision, alongside suitability, cost and your existing tackle.
Does a lure mentioned in a comment count as a tested result?
No. A viewer's experience is supporting information. It remains separate from the BassLureFish filmed sessions used in these public guides.
