That’s interesting man. I heard recently that a lot of the rods are made from the same blanks out of the same factory. And the only difference is rings and fittings and paint and finish. Not sure if that’s right. But there is definitely a place for the right budget set up.

Yep. That makes sense man. You’ll need the flouro for abrasion resistance. 👍. My test was over sand banks so no issue with abrasion

Hello ! I have 12 seabass rods between 100 and 250 €, and my fav one ever is à 60 € rod . Cylius Komplum 2m58 7-25g moderate fast, it's my best far casting rod. I totally trust it for big seabass on light topwater fishing .

That’s pretty much what we found too. The £20 Temu setup was far better than it had any right to be — but I think “lottery” is the key word. With the expensive gear you’re largely paying for consistency, refinement and quality control. With Temu, you might get a gem… or your son’s rod 😂

I bought a 100 pound shimano rod that the tip snapped. It was replaced and replacement snapped in the same place. I bought my daughter a 17 pound temu rod, same casting weight and its a lovely rod and a pleasure to use. Bought my son a temu rod same spec same price but its just ok. Temu is a bit of a lottery as there is so much on there, but there are some really really good value products on thete

Yes id say when fish strikes at lure it's a reaction thing they don't stop to check you're using a fluro leader,but places freshwater fished alot some fish are very wary full stop, enjoyed this and your findings on your experiment

Hi David. I don’t see why not if you’re lure fishing for trout. If the water is especially clear that might make a difference and fluoro might be better. Others may have views???

Can you fish for all fish strait to braid like trout fishing im a beginner guys

@wolfie498 well it failed me as soon as I hit a fish, possibly due to slippy braid, maybe should have added a hitch or two and left some tag.

@BassLureFish yes I use 15-18lb fluoro if I'm using larger lures for larger bass, will certainly consider braid only for that, just need to be sure of the knot. And yes Alberto for my leader knot too, very easy to tie and pretty solid, FG knot is impossible with my eyesight and fat fingers, and Albright knot seems to go wrong half the time.

Yep. It’s not really the cost of the leader that’s the issue for us. It’s more the hassle of tying FG or Alberto knots on the boat when in a hurry surrounded by feeding fish.

Braid to a clip - Palomar knot. Has never failed me.

we use maxima chameleon mono as leader, cheap as chips, does the exact same thing as a fluro leader.

@BassLureFish Hi forsure its how we learn things in fishing, the mono i use is sufix Advance,and the coated flouro i use is FTK cheap but very good Quality. Tightlines...
