Keep tidal phase and tidal range separate
Flood, ebb, high water and low water describe different parts of the tidal cycle. Spring and neap describe its range. A record saying neap does not tell you whether the session was on the flood or ebb. V20 keeps those labels in separate fields when the source supplies both.
A productive tide is not a universal rule
A catch during one tidal stage shows when that catch happened. Without comparable fishing during other stages, it does not establish that the chosen stage was better. Location, presentation, weather and fishing effort remain part of the explanation.
Use the records to frame your next test
Compare sessions with a similar question and clearly described context. Note the start of the session, changes in current and how long each option was fished. These notes make a future comparison more useful than a single label such as good tide.
Common questions
Can this guide tell me the best tide tomorrow?
No. It collects historical fishing observations. Consult the relevant current tide information for your trip and treat the filmed sessions as contextual evidence.
Are sessions from different marks directly comparable?
Not necessarily. Keep the location and presentation attached to each result. Matching tide labels do not make different sessions controlled equivalents.
How this guide stays current
Eligible new BassLureFish long-form videos are linked automatically. Labelled results and conditions come from the latest successfully retrieved description, or identified original field notes. A source check alone does not create a new finding. Missing measurements remain gaps.
