Thanks for those thoughts mate. Appreciated. So tell us more. What colours for bass work best and in what conditions. My experience is that natural colours like khaki work best alongside the white. I've done a lot of trolling for pike with multiple rods and on some days, it'll be one particular colour that gets the most takes, then you just switch other rods to that same lure/colour and you're hauling. When fish aren't active, it makes no difference what colour you use, when they are - it's often does - which is dependant on water clarity, time of day, overcast or sun, depth, etc. I think a lot of guys who lure fish for bass could learn a lot from good pike lure anglers, as most I see yapping away on YouTube haven't a clue. I've been bass fishing with lures for a while now and it didn't take me long to start doing well, a lot better than most I would say. Having an understanding of colour and when it can make a difference is something that will catch you more bass and no, pink and white are not the best colours - people only think they are as that's all they seem to use...

Posted 2026-10-04 · checked 2026-10-17.@BassLureFishi fish from the pier ...i use the standard black minnow ..I prefer pink or white or the white and yellow UV one because I fish mostly in the evening and sometimes in the night . Mostly I fish with the 8 and 10 gram ... sometimes 12 gram.

Posted 2026-10-01 · checked 2026-10-17.Thanks dude. White all day long. What about the white lures with red jig heads? So many patterns seem to have that for some reason. But it’s weird. No fish resembles it but it still catches. Maybe another test for me to do.

Posted 2026-09-21 · checked 2026-10-17.Hey man. Thanks for your observations. The lures were identical apart from colour. All same size. The 40g Ebbrox Titan Shad. Water clarity wasn’t perfect which might explain why white won?

5 Minute Sea Fishing - South Devon Lure fishing session
Fished lures with a teaser west side of the river mouth yesterday (4th Nov ). Trying for Bass but caught eleven Mackerel, all small. Most were caught on the white feather teaser.

6 Must Have Bass lures for Sea Fishing
HG said the one lure he would have if limited to one would be the ima Hound glide, casts really well and I do use it, but so far I have not tempted any Bass with it, The lure I have caught more Bass on than any other has been the Redgill Evos and the Redgill V8 in pearl white, 100mm and 150mm sizes, both very effective.

Harbour fishing for Bass - Lure fishing for Bass with the Seeker!!
Great video! After nearly 30 trips over 4 months, I finally caught a bass on lures yesterday. I caught it on a Fiish Black Minnow/Khaki. I cast, let it sink, and as I twitched it, I thought I was snagged, so held the drag and pulled.....It pulled back!!!! It measured 51cm and was put back (I don't like bass!!). What a feeling; it was nothing like catching on a beach rod. I did panic at first, as I really wasn't expecting it, but then slowly brought it in.

a great way to catch bass
Appreciate that, my lure list is getting longer ! Finding the zonk,do live and those cotton candy’s have sold out . However the ima mullet and white mega bass zonk are on my top 10. Bring on the heatwave !
