Thanks for those thoughts mate. Appreciated. So tell us more. What colours for bass work best and in what conditions. My experience is that natural colours like khaki work best alongside the white. I've done a lot of trolling for pike with multiple rods and on some days, it'll be one particular colour that gets the most takes, then you just switch other rods to that same lure/colour and you're hauling. When fish aren't active, it makes no difference what colour you use, when they are - it's often does - which is dependant on water clarity, time of day, overcast or sun, depth, etc. I think a lot of guys who lure fish for bass could learn a lot from good pike lure anglers, as most I see yapping away on YouTube haven't a clue. I've been bass fishing with lures for a while now and it didn't take me long to start doing well, a lot better than most I would say. Having an understanding of colour and when it can make a difference is something that will catch you more bass and no, pink and white are not the best colours - people only think they are as that's all they seem to use...

Posted 2026-10-04 · checked 2026-10-17.@BassLureFishi fish from the pier ...i use the standard black minnow ..I prefer pink or white or the white and yellow UV one because I fish mostly in the evening and sometimes in the night . Mostly I fish with the 8 and 10 gram ... sometimes 12 gram.

Posted 2026-10-01 · checked 2026-10-17.Thanks dude. White all day long. What about the white lures with red jig heads? So many patterns seem to have that for some reason. But it’s weird. No fish resembles it but it still catches. Maybe another test for me to do.

Bass Frenzy In The Plaice And We Got Collored

As ive never lure fished before can you point me in the right direction with lures. Is the lures you use are they the predator thrasher 115mm 18.5g as I'm thinking of ordering the ghost. I used savage gear seeker jigs white and green ones many times. I couldnt catch even a fish so i dont think this is good lure. Is there anybody catched fish with savage gear seeker ? May be i m using wrong..

@walnutpub123 yep, you can. Use lures with solid colours, blue, white and purple work well. Use a lure with a lot of noise/rattles or big paddle tails. I've had quite good luck in dirty water using top water lures. Hope this helps

Great upload Matt! Now since you uploaded this 28th of July, was it the hottest day ever? Because the last few days here in the South West have been hotter than hell! Good footage of the Bass chasing the whitebait! Now, question. I love my SG seekers & surf seekers, but last time I was out they twisted the line on my reel badly & I ended up with massive tangles. Can you recommend a good lure clip with a swivel, or should I just get some swivels to slip on the Breakaway …
