Thanks for those thoughts mate. Appreciated. So tell us more. What colours for bass work best and in what conditions. My experience is that natural colours like khaki work best alongside the white. But would welcome your own thoughts which will honk tomorrow database on Basslurefish.com for other anglers to benefit from. We’re all learning here.

Pink vs White Lures for Sea Bass: Does Colour Matter?

The best colour is the one that tiggers fish on the day. I've done a lot of trolling for pike with multiple rods and on some days, it'll be one particular colour that gets the most takes, then you just switch other rods to that same lure/colour and you're hauling. When fish aren't active, it makes no difference what colour you use, when they are - it's often does - which is dependant on water clarity, time of day, overcast or sun, depth, etc. I think a lot of guys who lure f…

I've been bass fishing with lures for a while now and it didn't take me long to start doing well, a lot better than most I would say. Having an understanding of colour and when it can make a difference is something that will catch you more bass and no, pink and white are not the best colours - people only think they are as that's all they seem to use...

Deep Wreck Fishing UK - Sea Fishing For Pollock And Bass In The Middle Of The English Channel

Jake another nice video ,question as I've never lure fished but will have a go this year out the back of the Isle of White. Ok you use a lead of the right size to keep the line as vertical in the water column as possible, but the lures you use come in various weights so what determines the weight of the lures.

2020 Top 10 killer bass lures U.K

The best lure for a hungry bass is ANYTHING . I fell for all that expensive lure bullshit at the beginning, until my uncle showed me it's all about understanding the tides, knowing your locations and persistence. My uncle caught bass on a white shoe lace on a weighted hook. He only did that to show me that expensive lures are a waste of money and he was right. Now all I use is dirt cheap soft plastics on weighted hooks ... i catch a lot of bass on these in SE Ireland....

Savage Gear Surf Seeker & V2 Sandeel - Using Lures In The Surf For Bass - Bass Fishing Uk

Nice video, I love your enthusiasm.
Waist deep in the surf is an exciting and addictive place to be!

Fish an hour either side of low water. Still or gentle offshore wind, anything over .5m swell (.8 is perfect) and a long wave period, 12 seconds or more. More than 1.5m break way out so you need to look for the gullies and rips that cancel out some of the waves vigour(due care essential around the I rips). The long swell period usually means a powerful wave that has travelled a long way, these waves move a lot of sand as they stand up and impact on feeling the bottom (solid ocean swell waves break in 1.5x their height of water). The big bass patrol the clear water just outside this impact zone. Drop your lure 10/15 feet past this turbulence that is raising clouds of sand. Let it drop to the bottom then jerk it back to the surface. You should get 2 or 3 jerks in the clear water before the lure enters the turbulent zone where the smaller, more energetic fish are. If you can’t reach outside the breaking waves drop your lure into the lulls between the white water as sometimes the fish are attracted to the splash and the visibility increases as the sand settles.

I live miles away now, this forecast enables me to pinpoint when the travelling is justified 😎

Good video mate , rarely too rough for the Bass , they will feed in extremely heavy conditions , it's just fishing it is the problem. I find in the bigger surf the fish are normally closer in , so casting a distance is not essential .
Keep it up , the season is just beginning ...

They SMASHED These 2 Lures! | Bass Lures For October

The waters I fish are usually murky and I always swish my lures around nearby before casting to see what stands out best. Colours and translucents seem to get lost in the murk, solid white is okay, but a bold, solid black sub-surface lure comes out the winner everytime. Raymondo.

Interesting. Bass fishermen seems to always go for a white lure when the water is cloudy. Where I fish for trout, the water is always murky and the go to advice is to use black flies/lures as the trout can pick out the shadowy movement in the gloom. They work, and white doesn’t, generally in my experience.
