Thanks for those thoughts mate. Appreciated. So tell us more. What colours for bass work best and in what conditions. My experience is that natural colours like khaki work best alongside the white. I've done a lot of trolling for pike with multiple rods and on some days, it'll be one particular colour that gets the most takes, then you just switch other rods to that same lure/colour and you're hauling. The best colour is the one that tiggers fish on the day. When fish aren't active, it makes no difference what colour you use, when they are - it's often does - which is dependant on water clarity, time of day, overcast or sun, depth, etc. I think a lot of guys who lure fish for bass could learn a lot from good pike lure anglers, as most I see yapping away on YouTube haven't a clue. I've been bass fishing with lures for a while now and it didn't take me long to start doing well, a lot better than most I would say. Having an understanding of colour and when it can make a difference is something that will catch you more bass and no, pink and white are not the best colours - people only think they are as that's all they seem to use...

Posted 2026-10-04 · checked 2026-10-17.@BassLureFishi fish from the pier ...i use the standard black minnow ..I prefer pink or white or the white and yellow UV one because I fish mostly in the evening and sometimes in the night . Mostly I fish with the 8 and 10 gram ... sometimes 12 gram.

Posted 2026-10-01 · checked 2026-10-17.Thanks dude. White all day long. What about the white lures with red jig heads? So many patterns seem to have that for some reason. But it’s weird. No fish resembles it but it still catches. Maybe another test for me to do.

Posted 2026-09-21 · checked 2026-10-17.Hey man. Thanks for your observations. The lures were identical apart from colour. All same size. The 40g Ebbrox Titan Shad. Water clarity wasn’t perfect which might explain why white won?

Sea Fishing Uk🎣🐟 The Bass Smashed this CHEAP Lure When Others FAILED!😱
Evening Douglas, not a favourite lure but colour and size for me. Has to be pearl/white or 500 G. Top water fishing is my favourite, fantastic when you get hit. Done well with savage gear gravity stick 's twitching about a foot down. Like bigger surface lures in rougher water. Great watch and hope to get back to SW Scotland asap !

Lure fishing for Bass beginners guide Part 1
Well where’s the fun in that ! It’s really hard to incorporate all the variables in to why a bass takes. For instance I have a bias towards the lures that caught the one off bigger fish, but it may of been the way I retrieved or the any number of other reasons. I think as with most things the more experienced one gets the more refined and minimal our choices. I also don’t do well with white overall but had an awesome session once where they only took white !

I’ll be trialing some more theory’s this year about colour , I’m not sure at night if small changes matter just dark, light and middle of spectrum maybe ? Thanks for your input 👏

Colour choice makes a massive difference in my opinion.. last season i use the launceR for 80% of my surface fishing the Mullet Bora colour slayed them where as the mackerel..white and ayu colours didn’t do so well..As the years go bye my lure collection is becoming smaller and smaller With each season that passes as you will learn what the bass are after..If I had to fish with two lures for a whole season it would be a feed shallow 128 mullet n a patchinko 125 500g.. don’t b…

LURE FISHING FOR BASS | UK BASS FISHING
@johnratcliffe6438 White SP’s are brilliant at night and that’s a given. Dark or completely black lures are also just as good though. I’ve had some good bass on the sidewinder black tide eel, glitter eel and also the skerrie at night. I’d actually try a darker lure first when fishing at night, especially if it’s a full moon too.
