Thanks for those thoughts mate. Appreciated. So tell us more. What colours for bass work best and in what conditions. My experience is that natural colours like khaki work best alongside the white. But would welcome your own thoughts which will honk tomorrow database on Basslurefish.com for other anglers to benefit from. We’re all learning here.

Pink vs White Lures for Sea Bass: Does Colour Matter?

The best colour is the one that tiggers fish on the day. I've done a lot of trolling for pike with multiple rods and on some days, it'll be one particular colour that gets the most takes, then you just switch other rods to that same lure/colour and you're hauling. When fish aren't active, it makes no difference what colour you use, when they are - it's often does - which is dependant on water clarity, time of day, overcast or sun, depth, etc. I think a lot of guys who lure f…

I've been bass fishing with lures for a while now and it didn't take me long to start doing well, a lot better than most I would say. Having an understanding of colour and when it can make a difference is something that will catch you more bass and no, pink and white are not the best colours - people only think they are as that's all they seem to use...

Sea Fishing Scotland - Firth of Clyde - Sea Trout - Bombarda

It’s across the water from Rosneath, I’ve had the lures for several years but they are made by Fulling Mill I think they were half and half baitfish and I got them in a set of four, blue/white, brown/white, green/white and red/white

The Only 4 Bass Lures you need!

There's many situations where those aren't going to work or be viable to use and what is people who keep making uninformed comments about colour selection - as there are times when it really does make a difference. Oh, best colour for a Seeker is the right colour on the day. The black pearl is the one I catch on most, as it has the best silhouette when viewed from below. The white creates the least contrast so works best in dull conditions or less clear water conditions. Also the 30cm Drift Launch often out fishes SG Seekers.

Save money and time changing lures, and catch some Bass. Buy Savage Gear "Surf Seeker" in 23, 30 and 40 grams, and learn to use them in all fishing conditions. The only color you need is WHITE. White creates the greatest contrast to any other color, and is therefore the easiest to see.

Essential Bass Lures for This Summer- Experienced Anglers Honest Choice

You say, "... nearly every wobbler is more or less the same...". That could be true for some of the cheaper lures but absolutely not the case for the high end JDM hard lures that I have used for many years. Some have similar actions with subtle differences and work at different depths and speeds, others have quite unique actions. You say, "... nearly every wobbler is more or less the same...". That could be true for some of the cheaper lures but absolutely not the case for the high end JDM hard lures that I have used for many years. Some have similar actions with subtle differences and work at different depths and speeds, others have quite unique actions. Once you understand the nuances it's a case of picking the right one for the conditions and mood of the fish. But rest assured they're not all the same and I catch a heap on bass on these lures. Colour? Can make no difference at all when they're on the hunt but conversely can make a huge difference when the fish are lethargic or you're fishing in a coloured water. I always have my go to lures in at least three colours, one being something bright like chartreuse or white. People should do some trolling for pike, as you soon begin to realise that colour can make a big difference on the day, especially when trolling multiple rods. I keep hearing bass lure noddies banging on about only use white or yellow lures, my God these guys must blank a lot.

Interesting selection and interesting that it differs from my own .Apart from surface lures i rarely use a wobbler nowadays"and that certainly would not be an overpriced patch although i have a few.,but with you on the spook " for me soft plastics and inline an a few heavy metals get you fishing through out the whole water column ,the action on nearly every wobbler is more or less the same ,there are a few exceptions but not many ,cast ablity to lenth is basically the only thing that separates one from another . in line lures have the advantage of fishing through the whole water column from top to bottom and their action is hard to beat . i noticed that you did not have anything very small ,i have good results with half an 1 inch soft plastics they often save the day . I was very interested in your observations on color ,except at night i have never noticed a difference and i wonder if its fishing different ground . anyway as i said interesting to me that our lure choice is some way apart but i suppose thats what makes it interesting . thanks for the vids i enjoy them.

6 Must Have Bass lures for Sea Fishing

Good lures especially the patchinko and the white soft lure best choice of hook with the twist lock
Unfortunately the colours of the patchinko are not the best especially the blue one in my opinion the sea bass like see through belly and the way you twitch should be short and fast instead of big and slow the see bad has the predator instinct and in the summer you need to twitch fast
