What we tested
A fishing day built around searching offshore water, then changing the plan when the expected fish were not there.
What this session suggests
Distance is not the same thing as fish location. Signs, structure, tide and bait matter more than how far the boat has travelled.

This was one day and one search pattern, not a controlled experiment proving that inshore water is generally better than offshore water.

We pushed miles out searching for birds and open-water feeding fish in tough easterly winds, but sometimes the answer isn’t further offshore — it’s going back to basics.
After struggling early, we headed back closer to home, slowed things down, trusted what normally works, and finally started finding fish again. Not an epic smash-up session… just a real day of adapting, changing tactics, and grinding out results.
We ended up finding three different species and a few quality fish along the way.
