Sources & method

A useful record.
An honest boundary.

Catch reports explain what was recorded, where the gaps are and what would make the next comparison stronger.

How a report starts

An eligible BassLureFish long-form video must have explicit catch numbers or paired comparison counts. The report combines its labelled description and existing field notes into a consistent account of results, conditions, tackle and limitations. The original test page and full video remain linked.

How topics develop

New qualifying catch reports join the relevant fishing guides. A background scan also checks imported comments and external source records for explicit catches with supporting context. It works through the available database in batches and selects up to 24 recent qualifying references per broad topic and source group; a page displays up to eight per group. This is a selected set of accounts, not an exhaustive survey.

What the text engine does

The engine uses conservative extraction rules and fact-based sentence templates. It does not use a generative AI service, watch videos, obtain unavailable transcripts or invent absent measurements. Informal phrasing it cannot interpret confidently remains available through the Evidence Finder. A catch report is an automatic compilation, not a claim that a human has reviewed every sentence.

Three distinct evidence levels

Our filmed results come first. Reports from comments on our own videos follow. Other creators and their discussions provide separate supporting experiences, with the publisher named in plain text and links to related BassLureFish footage. Related footage does not verify an external claim. Commenter identities are not published.

Counts and comparisons

We do not pool different trips, infer fishing effort, treat comment volume as votes, or count repeated accounts as independent experiments. Exact duplicate fact patterns are collapsed. An unexplained disagreement stays unresolved; a missing count is never turned into zero.

Dates that mean what they say

Fishing dates appear only when supplied. Video or comment publication dates describe publication. A report has its own first-publication date and changes its update date only when its substantive content changes. Routine checks do not refresh those dates.

Source access and corrections

Imports use the existing configured access to YouTube, feeds and Facebook Pages. Public visibility does not make every Facebook account accessible through an API. Source removals, moderation and expiry are rechecked before selected notes are displayed; refreshes depend on working credentials and scheduled jobs. No messages are sent to creators.

To correct or remove an account, contact BassLureFish. Internal source references are retained for checking; full comments are not copied into the catch-report index.
